Zóna Taxi
In May 2006, Budapest Airport Zrt. issued a two-round public tender invitation for the taxi service within the range of the Budapest Ferihegy International Airport. After a fair and transparent tender competition, the tender committee of BA unanimously elected the winning company, namely the ZÓNA-SERVICE Consortium.
The members of our consortium have a large range of experience gained in the area of taxi service operation. Our tender application included the highest service level for the most beneficial fares and also several unique innovations.
Since August 15, 2006, a high quality and fair passenger carrier service started running at Ferihegy Airport, which can be characterized by the following:

The rational utilization of the environmental elements and the reduction of the environmental load have been a fundamental aspect of the environmental strategy, operation and development of the airport. Therefore, the undertakings of the ZÓNA-SERVICE Consortium for the environmental protection feature of its vehicle fleet as well as the assurance of the state-of-the-art technical parameters greatly contributed to the decision making process of BA Zrt.
All of the new Zóna TAXI vehicles will be equipped with diesel engines suitable for the Euro IV level requirement. This will reduce the amount of the contaminants emitted by the occasional taxis at Ferihegy to nearly half of the current emission rate. The emission of carbon-monoxide (CO) will be reduced by an amount of approximately 1.368 kilograms, which equals nearly to that emitted by the boiler houses of Budapest Airport in total within two years. Nitrogen-oxide (NOx) emission may even drop by an amount of 3,845 kilograms per year. This roughly equals to one-fifth of the annual nitrogen-oxide emission of Budapest Airport.
